For 241 years, America has been a work in progress. Now we face a landmine as Donald Trump, Mike Pence, Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell lead a well-orchestrated power/money grab that will bankrupt the public sector, shred the middle class, magnify racial conflict and give corporations complete control over the nation's economy.   
Our c ountry was created through resistance and we continue this tradition by actively opposing the right wing agenda. Let's celebrate July 4 and remember the thousands of people who have struggled to build the best parts of our society. They are our heroes. Following their lead, we will fight to prevent the GOP from gutting our health care, pushing people out of our country, destroying our environment and our democratic systems.

We will RESIST for as long as it takes.

It's All about the Tax Cuts

Economist Jack Norman spoke to LPS members June 30. His message? Trumpcare is not about health. It is the mechanism to transfer over $1 trillion dollars currently used for healthcare into the pockets of the richest 1%. His source for this information was Fox News.
Former Secretary of Labor Robert Reich says Trumpcare would be the largest redistribution of wealth from the middle class and the poor to the rich in the history of the U.S.

The massive tax cut will take $800 billion out of the Medicaid system and cut medical care for over 23 million Americans, 15 million in the first year. Two out of three senior citizens in nursing homes rely on Medicaid and have no other source of support for their care.  A $60 billion tax cut comes out of the Medicare pot and destabilizes the program within eight years.
